Quinton Morris

We interviewed the concert musician for our most fascinating singles story.
Posted November 01, 2012
First date idea: A stroll through Belltown’s Olympic Sculpture Park can easily segue to dinner on the waterfront.

Age: 34

Occupation: Concert violinist, Seattle University professor

Neighborhood: International District

Orientation: Bisexual

Grew up in: Park Forest, Illinois, a suburb south of Chicago

Personal mission: To be the very best person I can be. I try to treat people with respect and compassion and be a positive role model to the younger generation.

Best quality: I’m ambitious, a good listener, a good dresser and I’m a gentleman.

People would be most surprised to learn: I’m a stage 4B Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer survivor.

Favorite guilty pleasure: Eating bad junk food on my rare “cheat” days: McDonald’s fries, any sort of potato chip, Molly Moon’s ice cream and popcorn!

Best place to eat a meal solo in Seattle: Matt’s in the Market

Best way to spend a rainy day in Seattle: Reading or watching college football or black-and-white movies

Describe your ideal “mate”: I’m not looking for a homebody. I’m looking for someone who enjoys being active: sports, concerts, museums, hiking, wine tasting and hanging out with friends. I’m looking for someone to explore and enjoy life with.

Favorite place for a first date: Anywhere but a coffee shop

Best way to meet people in Seattle: I have no idea…maybe this Seattle magazine article?*

*Funny you should mention that: by the time this story went to press, Morris had found himself a relationship. We can't really take credit for that. But we might.
