Jeweler Moorea Seal Opens Online Shop

This local jeweler's new shop is a who's who of cool local (and national) designers and artists (ring by MIneralogy and bracelets from Evidence Jewelry*)

Moorea Seal, Seattle magazine’s Designer to Watch for jewelry in 2012, has opened a super-cool online shop (with a huge team of helpers), called, appropriately, mooreaseal.com. The site is focused on beautiful artisan-made items by US-based designers, including Seal’s jewelry line, Balue/Co (another Seattle mag fave), awesome bags from Pine + Boon (another local talent), as well as beautiful pieces by *Evidence Jewelry and Mineralogy (seen in the photo above). Seven percent of all the proceeds benefit local nonprofits, designated into five cause categories, Caring for Animals, Health + Wellness, Children’s Needs, Women’s Causes and Protecting Our Planet, an element of the shop that Seal calls “essential.” Each designer on the site has chosen to partner with a category that they care about and shoppers have the option to shop by cause, which empowers them as consumers.

Interesting to note about Seal: she has a mega-huge online following. “I have over 3,000 followers of my personal blog and over 850,000 followers on Pinterest,” she says. “I've been ranked in the top 200 pinners out of millions of people, since Pinterest launched a few years ago. I was even picked by Pinterest to be featured in 2012's Christmas campaign 30 Days of Pinspiration along side Anthropologie, Refinery 29 and Nina Garcia!”

Our picks from the shop include this leather blocked cross body bag from Rouge & Whimsy (another rad Seattle designer); this pretty in pink sorbet scarf from Karu; Free Mason earrings from Shadow House (huge and distinctive); and Seal’s delicate pyrite drop necklace. But it's all awesome.
